How much studying for Organic Chemistry?
Friday, November 28th, 2008Steve asked:
I have a strong understanding of general chemistry. I would like to take Organic Chemistry on the quarter system. How much studying will I be doing each night/each week? I am trying to rearrange my work schedules in order to adapt to the time I need to devote to this class in order to receive an A, A-, or B+. Your advice is much appreciated.

Friday, November 28th, 2008For Those Who have taken Organic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry in College, which is harder?
Friday, November 28th, 2008Dragon asked:
I have just taken my Organic Chemistry Final Exam. After two semesters of organic chemistry, I have to say this is the hardest class I have taken because of the volume of information that I have to memorize. I have already scheduled Physical Chemistry for the fall semester, and I am asking those who have taken both Physical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry in college. Which is harder, and…how much harder is it than the other? Should the blood the sweat I poured into Organic Chemistry help me in Physical Chemistry?, or will I be in for a rude awakening?

What are good websites to learn Organic Chemistry?
Friday, November 28th, 2008cyneburg asked:
I’m looking for a website that goes in-depth into hardcore Organic Chemistry, but one that can also explain the material in a clear way that’s easy to understand and take in. I’ve looked around, but am open to new suggestions. Anything is helpful! Thanks!
I wasn’t trying to diss book learning or anything (I have a huge required textbook): I was just trying to find some other way to learn the material. The reason I ask for websites is that they tend to have animations that might be helpful.

Friday, November 28th, 2008Is there an Organic Chemistry software that solves reactions?
Friday, November 28th, 2008dutchmenpoocha asked:
am looking for an Organic Chemistry software doesn’t matter if it’s free or not, that solves alkene reactions, alkene halydes etc, and gives the products of the reaction. (if it’s a reduction reaction etc).
Like for example what would be the product obtained from the reaction of Br2 with 1-butene if the reaction would be carriout with ethyl alcohol. You write the formula for that in the software and you’ll get the product, etc.
